Ottawa, ON --- Jump Canada has named Jenna Thompson the CAVALOR 'Athlete of the Month' for January.
Thompson, 20, of Calgary, AB, had consistent performances during the month of January while competing at the Wellington Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL. It marked her return to the grand prix show ring following a fall semester spent studying environmental science at the University of British Columbia.
With her grand prix horse Zeke, an 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding, Thompson competed in the $50,000 Equisport Agency Grand Prix during week two of the Winter Equestrian Festival, as well as the $30,000 Braman Motorcars WEF Challenge Cup, Round IV, and the $75,000 Bainbridge Companies Grand Prix during week four. Thompson incurred four faults in each grand prix event, showing great potential.
“Whether it is riding or school, I work really hard at what I am doing,” said Thompson. “I am very thrilled to win the CAVALOR ‘Athlete of the Month’. It is quite an honour.”
As the CAVALOR 'Athlete of the Month' for January, Thompson receives a gift certificate from title sponsor CAVALOR Inc.
